Connect iCloud Calendar

Sync is read-only and opt-in. Your events come into Pikos as pages you can write on, and nothing you do in Pikos is ever sent back to Apple. Your calendar cannot be changed or damaged by connecting it here.

1. Make an app-specific password

Sign in at account.apple.com, go to Sign-In and Security, then App-Specific Passwords. Create one, name it "Pikos", and copy what it gives you.

Don't use your normal Apple password. iCloud won't accept it for CalDAV, and an app password is one you can delete later to cut Pikos off without touching anything else.

2. Connect in Pikos

Open Settings with Cmd+, (Ctrl+, on Linux), go to the Calendar sync tab, click Add account and choose CalDAV. Fill in:

• Server URL: https://caldav.icloud.com
• Username: your Apple Account email
• Password: the app-specific password from step 1

You don't need to find individual calendar addresses. Pikos discovers them from the base URL, including the partition host Apple redirects you to.

3. Pick the calendars you want

Pikos lists the calendars on the account that hold events. Turn on the ones you want and leave the rest alone. Each one gets its own folder and a color you can change.

Your app password goes straight into the system keychain, not into a file Pikos owns.

What to expect afterwards

Pikos brings in the past week and everything ahead of it. Older events stay in iCloud and don't come across, so a freshly connected account looks thinner than the calendar you're used to.

The title, time, and recurrence of a synced event are locked, because that's how it stays true to the source. The notes you add to it are yours outright and sync never overwrites them. Turning a calendar off later removes the mirrored events and keeps anything you wrote.

If it doesn't connect

The usual cause is the account password rather than an app-specific one. The second is two-factor authentication not being on, which Apple requires before it will issue app passwords at all.
